Hi witchy kids,
Every New Moon kicks off a six-month period of growth and culmination imbued with the themes and lessons of the sign it’s in. The release and celebration occurs under the Full Moon of that same sign, a “full circle moment.” The season of life we find ourselves in during a fresh start under Taurus, beckons us to explore an updated definition of abundance. This is meant to evolve with us year after year, one Taurus New Moon after another.
The shadow is like walking through fresh cement; stuck, plateaued, resistant to change while simultaneously tired of your own sh*t.
The medicine is simplicity. Back to basics. Bread and butter, hot tea and honey; decanting your desires down to their bare essence. When the mind feels crowded and the days blur together, Taurus invites us to ask, “how am I sustainably and joyfully getting my own needs met?” (We can’t forget the joy factor… it’s ruled by Venus, after all!)
Taurus is the second sign of the zodiac for a reason; following the burst of Aries passion, we shift into earth; before the cosmic procession can continue, we must establish a foundation, build wealth and security, determine our values and priorities.
The house of Taurus in your chart is the area of life defined by your relationship to money, stability, security, nature, a hearty dose of self-righteousness, and a lush appreciation for all that life has to offer.
Astrology through the lens of liberation
We can find a powerful comrade in the Taurus archetype. To dig one’s heels in, build a coalition of shared wealth; to be righteously stubborn in the name of justice and equity. Taurus understands the nature of worth beyond material wares and bank statements; the worth of solidarity, of taking a stand; of unflinching morals.
I’m taking a moment to share my participation in a grassroots movement called Pass the Hat founded by Erin Hattamer, connecting creators of all platform sizes with families on the ground in Gaza who are raising funds to evacuate through the Egyptian border.
I was matched with Safaa and her family of seven, including a daughter who has been unable to rehabilitate from spinal corrective surgery. Their home was demolished and they’ve been on the run for months without adequate food, clothing, or supplies. We’ve raised over $3000 in the last 72 hours, but evacuation is expensive. If enough of us contribute what we can, I’m hopeful we’ll get there. Even $5 helps!
We woke up to the gut-wrenching news that Israel has begun its invasion of Rafah, the “last safe place to flee” that they’ve corralled everyone within, dropping dystopian leaflets from the sky warning of the violence to come, while blocking the border crossing while 1.5 million people are backed into a corner. There are 600,000 children under 18 in these tent camps with nowhere to go. While evacuation is currently not an option, our hope with fundraising is that in the event it reopens, they’ll have what they need to get out.
If you feel called to advocate for a family, submit this form to get matched.
Any personal planets in the house of Taurus
These are the parts of your personality that exude a richness about them; high standards, clear likes and dislikes, strong values, down-to-earth demeanor. They may at times suffer from the illusion of not having enough, or being enough. Taurus is not materialistic in a shallow sense, but thrives on the security of what they possess. During chapters of scarcity or uncertainty, it is imperative that Taurean personalities not let the little voice of fear creep into their own sense of self-worth.
Where this New Moon lands for you
The house of 18° Taurus is the area of life you are invited to refine your foundations and call in new avenues of abundance. Scroll down for journal prompts and comment what’s coming up for you.
1st house: You’re cultivating a richness of self. Investing in you; your goals, dreams, personal upkeep and self-care. Feeling rich in body, mind, and soul. If any of your ventures require that you be the brand, then consider these next six months in service to being the blueprint. You’re your own rock; invest in yourself accordingly!
2nd house: It’s time to admit that you could be dreaming bigger. You could be charging more, valuing your offerings differently, structuring your work to create more time for how your priorities have evolved in the last year. You may feel drawn to passive income opportunities and working smarter, not harder.
3rd house: Allow these next six months to invest in the richness of the mind. Get clear about what enriches and stimulates your curiosity, and seek out abundance in the form of sharing your story, using your words, and cultivating your voice.
4th house: Plant seeds for your dream home. For what you want your family life to look and feel like six months from now. How different did this area look a year ago? You’re invited to nest even more, and refine the foundation you come home to.
5th house: Your creativity is a gateway to abundance. Simplify your priorities according to what sparks joy. It is allowed to be that simple. Like a child getting excited for the first day of school, or butterflies in your chest before a big job interview; follow the excitement.
6th house: These next six months could be a great investment in your health and the systems in which you set yourself up for success. Getting your ducks in a row, investing in a retreat or therapy, signing up for 75 Hard. Like a much needed oil change for the soul, what if you created a bootcamp for your higher self?
7th house: Your focus may naturally shift to investing more in your relationships. Apply some of the stubbornness of Taurus and be discerning about who you’ve been prioritizing. When this stubborn value-based sign rules your house of relationships, equity in all partnerships is essential. You may be pulling the tug to return to the table and renegotiate your standings.
8th house: Your paths to abundance always champion vulnerability, the revelation of self, and deep personal work. You attract the support of others quite effortlessly when you share the human behind the armor. Take great care of your inner world these next six months, as you often notice it’s a direct reflection in outer being as well.
9th house: Invest in adventure, but be careful not to drain your bank account flitting from one destination to the next! See how you can make your lust for life a more sustainable venture, with remote work opportunities and passive income creativity. This is a window of time where the dream can start earning new money!
10th house: There’s no two ways about it, your career is leveling up. It’s time to start earning what you are worth, to play on the level you were born to be on. Stop accepting less than you deserve, and get creative about how a new story of abundance can take root in your life these next six months.
11th house: It’s important to prioritize quality over quantity when it comes to your social circle. Being intentional about the way you show up in the world, mobilizing for an important cause, getting into fundraising or philanthropic efforts, being intentional about who you spend your time with. Making money online, using social media to your advantage. These will all be possible themes!
12th house: How can you commit to abundance via spiritual means? Through your creativity? By trusting your intuition, and the little voice calling for a leap of faith? This placement is divinely supported to find financial success through esoteric offerings. If you’ve wondered, “Can I make money as an astrologer? Could I support myself as a writer?” Practice the art of saying ‘yes, I can’ these next six months.
