Hey witchy kids!
There is a lot going on in the heavens this week. It’s a delicious melting pot of infernal desire, the urge to bolt, and the collective emotional body reaching a fever pitch.
The Sun & Moon in Scorpio held hands at 9° on November 1 at 5:47am Pacific. They are accompanied by a mutable T-square releasing in Virgo (cautioning greater finesse in times of uncertainty), a grand trine in water activated by kites to Pluto and Uranus (elevating our sensitivity and pushing us to release old patterns), Mars and Pluto in an impulsive final degree opposition, and Venus opposite Jupiter (looking to have its cake and eat it too).
GLOSSARY TERMS
New Moon: when the Sun and Moon reach the same degree of the same sign every month. It is the darkest night of the month, and considered a time for rest, setting intentions, and reflecting on what you’d like to focus on for the month ahead. I work with the Moon astrologically, which means setting intentions in 6-month increments. That’s how long it takes for us to experience a Full Moon in the same sign, closing out the energetic loop.
T-square: a major configuration representing tension, inner turmoil, and motivating conflict. I tell my clients it’s a “pressure cooker” in the psyche, where we tend to get in our own way…but through free will we can diffuse it using the qualities of the sign opposite the focal point, known as the release point. A T-square is formed by both ends of an opposition squaring the same third planet 90 degrees away, forming a right triangle. (These planets are typically in the same modality, excluding a mathematical exception at the late or early degrees of a neighboring mode.)
Grand trine: three planets connected by 120 degree angles forming an equilateral triangle. Typically all three planets are in the same element, with a mathematical exception for planets on the very edge of a neighboring sign. In this case, consider the element dominant in two out of the three points as the focus. This represents the highest potential of a single element, but it must be activated. Positive configurations can lie dormant in a chart, like a gift left unopened. That’s why a kite can be helpful:
Kites: on occasion, a grand trine will have two sextiles (60 degree angles) on one side of the triangle, turning it into the literal outline of a kite you’d fly in the park. This additional corner of the configuration can be used as an entry point, like a doorway into activating the grand trine. That fourth planet is in a compatible element to the grand trine, and acts like a supportive beam.
Opposition: two planets 180 degrees apart, creating polarity, tension, and a need for balance
The Scorpio archetype can be so private, truth gets hidden (even from themselves). Until they are ready to name the urge, to give shape and color to desire, it will remain an enigma. Our work is to demystify our desires. Pull every layer back. Mute every app, quiet the background noise, dispel distraction. What’s the truth you can’t run from? Today’s post is short and sweet because the truth doesn’t need to be dressed up.
“It is safe to trust the desire making itself known to me right now. It is safe to name it. To act on it. To prioritize it.”
Scorpio rising (1st house)
If your soul is the alchemist, your body is the mortar and vessel. When a new truth emerges, you feel it physically, until it’s a pounding ache that cannot be ignored. What new identity is emerging? Where are the layers peeling off?
Libra rising (2nd house)
Greater than your love of proving what you’re capable of, is your willingness to trade safety for higher ground in your own consciousness. Are there relationships that once were a beacon of power, that feel confining now?
Virgo rising (3rd house)
This year has tested your allocation of time, energy, and boundaries. How can you integrate what you’ve learned as you seek greater confidence and power through your voice?
Leo rising (4th house)
Pay close attention to the people and spaces that still feel like home, versus where you are experiencing foreign longing and disconnect, where your nervous system cannot settle. Tend to your inner circle and notice what wants to be nurtured in your life right now.
Cancer rising (5th house)
Your creative impulses, despite being profound and all-consuming, exist within a finite bandwidth. When you give away more energy than you have to spare, your projects fall to the back burner, laying way to fatigue and resentment. What do you truly desire to bring to life, vs. where are you beating a dead horse and running out of inspiration?
Gemini rising (6th house)
Name the desire plaguing your every waking hour, from when you brush your teeth to when you reread the same paragraph five times before bed — what fixations can you just not seem to shake right now? What are they telling you?
Taurus rising (7th house)
You love the stability of playing the long game and feel dreadfully limited by surface level relationships. There is a point when you must decide whether your depth is being reciprocated. Now it is time to prioritize with whom you can dig deep, and put the shovel down where the topsoil is compacted and uncompromising.
Aries rising (8th house)
You are no stranger to ripping off the Band-Aid, but you’ve engineered a contingency plan for your own impulses that might result in self-doubt. “What if I f*ck it up? What if I’m being too impulsive and regret my actions?” Better question: what if you play it safe and regret it for the rest of your life?
Pisces rising (9th house)
Your big picture vision is more an amalgamation of sensory intuition than it is a ten step plan. There comes a time, every so often, that the image must crystallize in greater detail. What new destination requires more softening, more dreaming?
Aquarius rising (10th house)
You love watching your friends swing for the fences, while you yourself have to learn the same lesson a few times over… You are not built to answer to anyone else. What dreams are you obsessed with? Where is your ambition champing at the bit to pursue? Hand your higher self the reins and get going!
Capricorn rising (11th house)
Is this a season of life when your circle is shrinking, or expanding? Is your criteria for closeness in need of an update? Your idea of success is influenced by the quality of company you keep. When you show up as your most authentic self, who sticks around? Who do you actually want to be around?
Sagittarius rising (12th house)
Your dream journal might be popping off right now! Re-commit to your spiritual practice. Which relationships need solitude? It’s okay to rest, even a busy bee like you! Spend time creating here instead of rushing to fill the social calendar.
For me personally, I’m laying low during Scorpio season. Saturn is conjunct my Sun and I’m feeling called to simplify, assess, and take small but mighty steps. Do you have any other transits affecting you right now?
As always, to the moon and back!

P.S. I’ve started including definitions of the astrology terms used in each post. Do you find the glossary section helpful or is it too much information? My Mars in Virgo isn’t sure!
10 degrees Scorpio is my 2nd house even though I am a Virgo rising at 28 degrees. I resonate with the 2nd and 3rd house especially the integration of what I’ve learned to become more confident. That is on point. Also, I am currently going through a Neptune transit and soon Pluto will come back squaring my sun. Thank you for this sweet yet powerful post Ocean ✨
